Fertility Science/IVF Meets Personal Care was the basis for helping all patients build their families, and this was my guiding principle from the beginning of my career.
With extensive undergraduate and postgraduate training in South Africa, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Dr Bernstein developed and ran successful IVF units and was the Medical Director of a boutique IVF unit, Fertility East, in Bondi Junction, which was taken over by Monash IVF.

Denyse is a Scientist who was involved with human reproduction and the treatment of infertile couples for over 40 years. Her initial training was in Chemical Pathology. She was inspired to enter the newly developing field of IVF after reading the book " A Matter of Life " by Steptoe and Edwards. This book described their pioneering work in IVF, which lead to the birth of the first IVF baby Louise Brown. The more she read the more she was drawn to this newly developing science and this emerging passion ultimately led to her coming to work for Dr Joel Bernstein where she was the Principal Scientist and assisted him in developing his IVF facilities in South Africa and subsequently Australia. She was one of the first scientists in South Africa to obtain a BSc degree in Reproductive Biology.

While working, she brought her extensive experience and common-sense approach to assisting patients in going for donor egg treatment.
Her in-depth knowledge of Andrology (sperm) and IVF assisted in reviewing past treatment cycles, which aided in future planning.
In addition to her scientific skills, she provided valuable emotional support to help patients on their fertility journey.

I believe that carefully listening to each couple's unique fertility journey is crucial to the future success of their treatment. This approach enhances my understanding of their needs, nurtures a stress-free environment, and enables us to tackle challenges collaboratively to find effective solutions. After qualifying as a Diagnostic Radiographer, she developed a strong interest in fertility sonography, focusing on the intricate field of transvaginal ultrasound. During her time as a gynecological sonographer at a prominent fertility clinic in Johannesburg, she broadened her knowledge of egg donation. With a compassionate approach, she assists patients in coordinating donor egg fertility cycles. After relocating to Australia from South Africa 18 years ago, Nikki continued her dedicated work with Dr Joel Bernstein and Denyse Asher before they retired, providing invaluable support to couples navigating their fertility journeys.

At Donor Eggs Australia we are able to offer you a fresh donor egg cycle where our team in Australia synchronises your cycle to prepare for embryo transfer, while our international clinical team prepares your egg donor for egg donation. When everything is ready you (and your partner) can enjoy a delightful holiday in Cape Town or Athens during which you will undergo embryo transfer enabling you to fly home with a realistic chance of being pregnant.
Frozen Donor Egg Cycle
Commonly any suitable embryos not utilised will be frozen for potential use at a later stage. On rare occasions if the female recipient cannot travel to the clinic but her male partner or sperm donor can provide sperm, then the eggs will be fertilised and frozen for her subsequent use. Under these circumstance the time needed at the overseas clinic is 2-3 days.
